Airport Transfer FAQ’s

Where will my chauffeur meet me?
Your chauffeur will be waiting in a prominent position holding a name-board in the arrivals hall (just after you exit customs). Once your chauffeur is in position in the arrivals hall, he will send you a text message (if a mobile contact number has been provided) introducing himself and explaining where he is waiting for you. If you are unable to locate your chauffeur, please either call his mobile (his contact number will be provided on your booking confirmation) or call our office on +44 (0) 20 3355 3333.

Will my chauffeur be there if my flight is early or extremely delayed?
We monitor all arriving flights so if there is a major change to the arrival time, we will automatically adjust the booking accordingly and notify you by email of the change. If there are any further delays once your chauffeur has arrived in the terminal, waiting time is charged at 30 minute intervals.

Can someone meet me at the door of the aircraft?
We can arrange an agent to meet you and your group at the aerobridge when you disembark the aircraft. The agent will escort you through immigration and customs to your waiting chauffeur in the arrivals hall. This service is an additional cost.

Can I smoke in the airport and/or the vehicle?
Smoking is prohibited within UK airport terminal buildings and all private hire vehicles. However, smoking is permitted in designated areas outside the terminal building which your chauffeur will be happy to show you before taking you to your vehicle. Furthermore, should you wish to smoke after you have left the airport, just let your chauffeur know and he will stop en-route to your destination at an appropriate location for you.

How long is the journey from Central London to the Airport?
The journey times can vary depending on the time of day, road and weather conditions. We recommend allowing the following amount of time to reach each London airport from Central London:
Heathrow Airport 60 minutes
Gatwick Airport 90 minutes
Luton Airport 90 minutes
Farnborough Airport 90 minutes
Biggin Hill Airport 80 minutes
Stanstead Airport 100 minutes
Southend Airport 120 minutes -
How much luggage can we fit in the vehicle?
Saloon/sedan vehicles can carry 2 large cases and two small hand luggage items. The Range Rovers can hold 2 large cases and two small cases, and the larger V Classes can hold 4 large cases and 4 small cases. If you have an excess of luggage, we can provide you with an additional luggage van.

How soon before my flight should I arrive at the airport?
We recommend arriving 3 hours in advance for all long-haul flights and 2 hours in advance for domestic/short-haul flights.
Chauffeur and Vehicle FAQ’s

Will our chauffeur respect our privacy?
Your chauffeur will unconditionally respect your privacy and confidentiality. Our chauffeurs are career professionals, very prudent and discreet. In addition, as standard practice our chauffeurs all sign a non-disclosure agreement with Belgraves of London.

Will our chauffeur help us with our luggage?
Yes, your chauffeur will help you with your luggage and assist you in any way he can from the moment you meet.

Will our chauffeur drive considerately and open the door for me?
A smooth journey is all part of the Belgraves of London experience. Your chauffeur will always drive at a safe speed within the legal limits, observing road conditions and traffic, your comfort and safety is paramount. Your chauffeur is consistently aware of your safety and will always open your door for you.

Will our chauffeur be smartly dressed?
Your chauffeur will be attired in a two or three-piece charcoal grey suit, pressed white shirt, blue/grey company tie and polished black shoes along with a company pin on their lapel and of course will be well groomed.

Will our chauffeur know his way around?
Rest assured your chauffeur will have an extensive knowledge of Central London and will choose the most appropriate route according to traffic conditions and the time of day. To further enhance your experience, we ask for as much information of your journey be provided at the point of booking so we can brief your chauffeur in advance.

How old are your vehicles?
Our vehicles are never more than 3 years old and all come with a high specification on board.

Will my vehicle be clean?
Your chauffeur driven vehicle will be valeted to a very high standard in advance of your booking. We believe you should always feel like the first person to step foot in the vehicle.

Will my vehicle be safe?
Safety is our priority. We primarily use Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Land Rover vehicles which have exceptionally high safety ratings. All vehicles undergo a Ministry of Transport check every 6 months and an inspection by our regulator every 12 months. All oil, tyre pressure and water levels are checked on a regular basis and we carry out random spot checks on all our vehicles to ensure maintenance of our standards.

What amenities do you have in the vehicles?
All vehicles have a DAB radio and the facility to stream your music from your device via Bluetooth through the car’s music system. Most vehicles come with rear entertainment where you are able to watch Netflix or Amazon Prime, USB content and surf the internet. Complimentary 5G Wi-Fi is available in all vehicles, if required please specify when booking.

Can I charge my phone in the vehicle?
All Belgraves of London vehicles have phone chargers for Android, iPhone and Blackberry devices. Some vehicles also have charging pads built in for later model phones.

Do you provide bottled mineral water in the vehicle?
Yes, we provide complimentary British mineral water offered in a sustainable 100% recycled aluminium bottle along with luxury hand towels, hand sanitiser and tissues.

Can I smoke in the vehicle?
It is prohibited by law in the UK to smoke in a private hire vehicle. However, your chauffeur would be happy to make as many stops as you like for smoke breaks.

Can I bring my pet in the car with me?
We do allow pets in the vehicles by prior arrangement as long as they are in a carrier, this must be requested at the point of booking. Assistance dogs will always be allowed in the vehicle without condition.

How much luggage can I fit in the vehicle
The Mercedes Sedan can carry 1 large case and 1 carry-on. The BMW i7 Sedan and the Range Rover SUV can accommodate 2 large cases and 2 carry-on’s and the larger Mercedes-Benz V Classes can hold 4 large cases and 4 carry-on’s. If you have an excess of luggage we can provide additional luggage vans.
Booking and Pricing FAQ’s

How far in advance should I book?
We can usually accommodate bookings made within a few hours of your journey. However, we recommend you book as soon as you know your travel plans to ensure availability.

When should I pay for my booking?
For clients without an account we require a 25% deposit to secure the booking with the balance due 7 days prior to the journey. If your booking is made within 7 days of the journey full payment will be required before the journey starts.

Do young children count as passengers?
Yes, all children count as a passenger regardless of age.

We have children travelling with us, do you provide child seats?
Just let us know the ages of the children when booking and we will provide the appropriate child seats free of charge. Please note you will have to fit the seats yourself in accordance with the law.

Do you have a price list?
Yes, our full tariff can be requested by emailing reservations@belgravesoflondon.com. Alternatively, basic prices can be seen for each vehicle on the fleet section of our website.

Do your prices include VAT?
VAT is not included on the quoted rates and is charged at 20%

Are there any additional charges?
Parking is charged at cost and kept to a minimum. The Central London congestion charge is added if your journey enters the CC Zone during the hours of operation.

Do you charge waiting time?
We offer 15 minutes free waiting time on collections and 60 minutes free waiting time on commercial airport collections. After this period waiting time is charged at the relevant rate (of the vehicle) at 30-minute intervals.

Do you charge extra on bank holidays?
We only apply a surcharge on hires on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and after 18:00 on Christmas eve and New Year’s Eve which is 100% of the standard rate.

Can I set up an account?
Yes, we would be delighted to set up a personal or corporate account for you. This will facilitate bookings and we can invoice you per journey, weekly or monthly, just let us know your preference. Account customers also benefit from preferential rates.
Environmentally Friendly FAQ’s

Do you have electric vehicles?
Yes we do, we have been committed to reducing our carbon footprint, almost half of our fleet consists of electric vehicles with the balance consisting of mostly plug-in hybrid cars.

Have you taken further steps to reduce your carbon footprint?
In addition to switching to electric cars we have replaced all the amenities offered in our vehicles from plastic products to fully sustainable alternatives. We have also installed solar power to our offices to run our entire operation on renewable energy. We are proud to say that we now offer the UK’s most sustainable luxury chauffeur driven service.

What green policies have you implemented?
We recycle all metal, glass, plastic (hard and flimsy), paper, cardboard and crisp packets. All non-essential lights and electronic devices have to be switched off when not in use to conserve energy. Paper is only used when it is essential and we use recycled paper when required. All chauffeurs use a reusable bamboo NFC business card instead of single-use throw away paper alternatives. Staff are regularly trained on environmental awareness and our company’s principles and policies. Environmental factors are included in all decision making.
