- Oil – Maintaining the correct level of oil is essential to prevent engine malfunction.
- Water – Ensure coolant and screenwash levels are topped up.
- Damage – Chauffeurs must check the vehicle for any damage: wheels, tyres, mirrors, lamps and reflectors, body panels, interior trim etc…
- Electrics – ensure all lights are in working order as well as electric windows, electric seats, screens etc…
- Rubber – Checks must be carried out to ensure tyres have adequate tread (min legal is 1.6mm), visually check tyre walls to make sure there are no surface cracks or cuts. Check tyre pressures ensuring they are all at the correct levels for that vehicle with passengers on board. Check the wiper blades and the rubber on the peddles is adequate.
- You – The chauffeur must ensure he is fit to carry out his duties. He must be well rested, not under the influence of any medication and in a good state of mind.
